PARKING AND TRAVEL INSTRUCTIONS

FIRST - A special thank you to all of the New Jersey folks who made this possible: The Mayor, City Council, School Board, Transportation Authority, State and Local Police, State and Federal officials, and especially the wonderful citizens of Camden for welcoming the Sisters into their community and their hearts. Camden is truly the heart of New Jersey.

10/24/97 UPDATE - Buses, Vans, & Cars of Sisters will be required to purchase PATCO High Speed Line Tickets for travel to and from the March  for $2.50 each. If you have purchased tokens for the shuttle in Philadelphia, your money will be refunded after the March. We apologize for this inconvenience Sisters.  

Directions from the Northeast States & Cities: Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, New York, Massachussets, Rhode Island, Northern New Jersey and from Eastern Canada.

BEFORE 6 AM

Take the New Jersey Turnpike South to exit #7 (Bordentown, U.S. Route 206). Take Rte 206 South following signs to Interstate 295 (I-295) South to I-676 to Camden. Follow signs to the Ben Franklin Bridge. Before the bridge follow signs for either the Sony Entertainment Center (E-Center) or the Camden Business District. The Sony Entertainment Center exit will lead to Parking at the Entertainment Center in Camden. The Business District exit will lead to parking at the Rand Transportation Center in Camden. March Security, State & Local Police officials will guide your bus, car, or van to the Parking areas. Please follow their instructions. 

SPECIAL NOTE: A group of Sisters will gather at Camden City Hall Plaza for a walk to the Liberty Bell to follow the procession of Drummers headed to the March. Camden City Hall Plaza is located at Broadway between Cooper and Market (it's near the Parking Areas). The Ben Franklin Bridge will be opened for walking traffic to accommodate the SIsters. Please wear comfortable shoes. Please aid disabled Sisters who want to journey with you on the walk. The River Link Ferry will be available for transportation across the river to Penns Landing also.

After 6 AM 

Follow the same directions as above. The PATCO (New Jersey) High Speed Line will take Sisters to Philadelphia. The last stop is 2 blocks from the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The ride is @15 minutes.  The River Link Ferry will also be available at the Camden Waterfront. For groups of 15 or more the cost is $3.00 round trip. For individuals, it's $5.00. The Ferry will take you directly to Penns Landing. Shuttles will be available to take Sisters from the parking areas to the PATCO High Speed Line.
