BUS AND CAR DRIVING ROUTES

PARKING UPDATE: BUSES THAT HAVE PRE-REGISTERED WILL BE GIVEN PARKING PERMITS AT THE PARKING AREA UPON ARRIVAL BY MARCH OFFICIALS. TOKENS WILL ALSO BE DISTRIBUTED TO SISTERS WHO HAVE PRE-PAID. WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE TO YOU.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE, PATIENCE, AND UNDERSTANDING. ALL UNREGISTERED BUSES WILL BE ABLE TO REGISTER ON THE SPOT AT THE PARKING AREAS:

The objective of the following bus routing system is to disembark MWM participants as close to the event as possible with the least amount of expense and inconvenience to them.

     The Security Team of MWM in conjunction with the Philadelphia Police Department are responsible for the safety and well being of the MWM participants.

     Bus Drivers, Car Drivers, and Van Drivers  please follow the instructions to minimize gridlock. Ask each bus captain/marshall to carry a cellular phone if needed during the course of travel. There are 4 Sectors of the country from which directions are provided. Please follow the directions from your sector of the country. Parking is available in Philadelphia and Camden, New Jersey.

All Buses, Cars, and Vans will be met by the Transportation Team at the Parking Area:

     1. Bus Greeters will assign a number to your Bus

     2. A registrar will check your registration

     3. A lot monitor will be taking a count of vehicles

     4. Marshalls will direct people and traffic

SECTOR A - States which are North of I-80 (Interstate 80) as far west as Sacramento, California., and North of Seattle, Washington and back East to Syracuse and North into Canada.

Before 6 AM for Sunrise Prayer

Use I-80 east to I-81, South into Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania turnpike, follow the PA turnpike Northeast extension  to the PA Turnpike Westbound to I-476 (Norristown exit). Take 476 South to I-76 east I-676 East (Vine Street) to I-95 South to the Washington Avenue exit. Turn left onto Columbus Boulevard (Delaware Avenue) to Penn's Landing area for the "Sunrise Prayer". All buses are to disembark expeditiously and be guided by a bus greeter to  the staging area. All Bus sponsors should have necessary documents ready.

After 6 AM all Buses proceed to main Bus staging area (BSA).

1. Use same route to I-76 East (past I-676 east). Stay on I-76 east to either the Broad Street exit or Packer Avenue exit. The Packer Avenue exit is the next exit after Broad Street. Both  exits lead to the parking areas. Follow the directives of traffic personnel to the B.S.A. (Bus Staging Area).

2. Buses also have the option of parking in the Naval Base area. Follow I-76 east, stay in one of the 2 lanes on the left, to the traffic light at Penrose Avenue. Turn left and follow to the next traffic light (Pattison Avenue). Turn right, stay to your right. Unregistered buses, please use the right lane. Registered buses please use the left lane to Broad Street. All buses please follow the directives of the traffic personnel.

SECTOR B - States, Cities which are included in the Northeast Corridor including Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachussets SPECIAL CAMDEN PARKING INFO

Before 6 AM for Sunrise Prayer:

Take the New Jersey Turnpike South to exit #7 (Bordentown, US Route 206). Take Rt 206 South following signs to I-295 South to I-676 west to the Walt Whitman Bridge. Get on the Walt Whitman Bridge, stay in the right lane. Pay the $2.00 toll. After the toll booth, bear right  and follow the signs for I-95 North. Go past the Washington Avenue exit to the exit for Penn's Landing for the "Sunrise Prayer". All buses are to disembark expeditiously and be guided by a "Bus Greeter" to the staging area. ALl "Bus Sponsors" should have necessary documents.

After 6 Am all Buses proceed to Bus Staging area. (B.S.A.)

Use the New Jersey Turnpike to exit #7 (follow above directions to the Walt Whitman Bridge). Buses may follow signs to I-95 South to Packer Avenue and follow directives of traffic personnel; or continue straight after the Bridge toll to 7th Street exit, Broad Street exit, or Penrose Avenue exit and adhere to directives of traffic personnel. Unregistered buses will be slightly detained so they may be registered.

Note: If your instructions are to park in Camden, see attached Camden parking information.

Alternative Route #1: After 6 AM: Also use exit #6 off of the New Jersey Turnpike to feed into the Pennsylvania Turnpike, stay right, pay the N.J. toll, keep right into the PA Turnpike, pay toll, take the first exit (US 13 South) to PA Route 413 West to I-95 South to Packer Avenue exit or next exit (Broad Street), and adhere to directives from traffic personnel.

Alternative Route #2: After 6 AM: use exit #4 (N.J. Route 73 North) to N.J. Rte 90 North (Betsey Ross Bridge), pay toll, follow sign for I-95 South to Packer Avenue. (see B-# above) or See Note for Camden parking.

Alternative ROute #3: Exit NJ Turnpike at exit #4 (NJ Rte 73 North) to I-295 South (1/2 mile to I-676 west (Walt Whitman Bridge - I-76 West). See B-2. Buses may follow signs to I-95 South (Packer Avenue).

SECTOR - C - States, Cities which are South of I-80 and North of I-40 from Fresno, California to Los Angelos.

Before 6 AM for Sunrise Prayer

Enter Pennsylvania at the Pennsylvania Turnpike eastbound, using I-81 to Valley Forge exit (I-76) east). Proceed east on I-76 to I-676 east (Vine Street) to I-95 south to the Washington Avenue exit, turn left off of exit onto Old Delaware Avenue (Columbus Boulevard). Proceed to Sunrise Prayer at Penns Landing Area. All bus sponsors should have necessary documents ready.

After 6 AM all Buses proceed to Bus Staging Area

A. Exit Pennsylvania Turnpike at Valley Forge (I-76 east), stay on i-76 (past I-676) to exit at Pennsylvania Route 291 (penrose Avenue). Please adhere to directives of the traffic personnel.

B. Or stay on I-76 east. Keep to the right and follow to Broad Street or to the next exit at Packer Avenue. Please adhere to the directives of traffic personnel.

C. Or exit I-76 at I-476 South after paying the toll on Pennsylvania Turnpike., Go to I-95 North  and exit at Broad Street or to the next exit at Packer Avenue.

SECTOR D - States, Cities, including Florida, Georgia, North  & South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Virginia, D.C., Maryland, which are South of I-40 into Mexico, back east to Miami.

Before 6 AM for Sunrise Service

Enter Pennsylvania on I-95 North or I-495 North, in Delaware. After crossing the George Platt Bridge, exit at Washington Avenue, turn left onto Old Delaware Avenue (Columbus Boulevard). COntinue straight to Penns Landing Area fro Sunrise Prayer. All buses are to disembark expeditiously and be guided by a "Bus Greeter" to staging area. All Bus sponsors should have necessary documents ready.

After 6 AM all Buses proceed to Bus Staging Area

Enter Pennsylvania by way of I-95 or I-495 thru Delaware. After crossing the George Platt Bridge, exit at Broad Street (first exit) or at Packer Avenue (next exit) and follow directives of traffic personnel.
